About the CIW Web Security Certification
The CIW’s CIW Web Security certification is an international, vendor-neutral certification for computer support technicians. The CIW Web Security certification proves your competency as a computer technician by measuring your skills in areas such as configuring, managing and deploying e-business solutions servers, and implementing e-business and network security solutions. The CIW Security Analyst certification has been retired and is replaced by CIW Web Security Series Certification.
CIW Web Security series provides three certifications. A candidate can get credited as CIW Web Security Associate by passing 1D0-571 exam. For CIW Web Security Specialist, a candidate is required to pass 1D0-571 exam and one exam from third party security certification. While for CIW Web Security Professional, a candidate should pass 1D0-571 exam and two exam from third party security certification.
This measures your skills in implementing security methods in business-to-business and business to consumer e-commerce. CIW Web Security certified technicians are expected to have excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients.
The candidate must meet the following 3 requirements:
1. Pass one required CIW exam,
2. Complete the CIW Certification Agreement
3. Submit proof of one valid networking administration certification from an approved vendor to become a CIW Security Analyst.

- 1D0-470 : CIW Web Security Associate exam
And the approved 3rd party certification (any one or two):
All CIW Professional certifications require the CIW Associate certification as a prerequisite.
