What is the exam's retake policy?

In the event that you fail your first attempt at passing the Linux-Essential examination, LPI's retake policy is:

  • Candidates who have failed their exam in first attempt must wait for one week before re-take.
  • Candidates who have failed their exam in second attempt must wait for 30 days before re-take.
  • If the candidates have already passed their exams, there is no need to take re-take exams for at least for 2 years.
What is the validity of the certification? Linux Essential Certification expires 5 years from date of issue, after which the certification holder will need to renew their certification. LPI highly recommends recertification after two years from the date of the certification designation to retain a current certification status.
