The Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC) is a certification in the field of Linux. Each LPIC level requires successful completion of two exams for certification. The LPI certification program is designed to certify the competency of system administration using the Linux operating system and its associated tools.
LPIC-1 exam is a part of Linux certification and it is designed to be distribution neutral, following the Linux Standard Base and other relevant standards and conventions. The Linux lpi does not endorse any third-party exam preparation material or techniques in particular.
The Junior Level Linux Professional certification covers basic knowledge for Linux system administration and preparation to take the LPI-101 and LPI-102 exams. This course is designed for a person who has been performing basic system administration tasks and who needs to install, configure, and manage a Linux-based system.
To be awarded LPIC level 1 certification the candidate must successfully pass two exams, i.e. 117-101 and 117-102. These two can be taken in any order.
