The CIW v5 E-Commerce Designer (1D0-525) test focuses on standards, technologies, and practices for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce models. The CIW test 1D0-525 covers a range of Internet technologies. The candidate must understand and facilitate relationships among marketing, promotion, customer service, user interaction, purchasing methods, and secure transactions by using SSL and SET, payment gateways, inventory control, shipping and order information, and site performance testing and evaluation. Before taking the 1D0-525 test, you should practice the following:

  2. Use additional networking and Internet services.
  3. Configure user customization features in Web browsers, including: preferences, caching, cookies.
  4. Read and know about the security issues and legal aspects of e-commerce.
  5. Know about search engine placement and e-mail marketing of products.
  6. Use different types of Web search engines.
  7. Transfer text and binary files using popular Internet services.
  8. Identify steps in the Web site planning and development process.
  9. Create a Web page and add images to the Web page.
  10. Create a basic HTML form that accepts user input, and create HTML frames.
  11. Use XML, Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML), and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to create Web pages.
  12. Use GUI-based HTML editing software to create Web pages.
  13. Identify, analyze, and diagnose common performance issues affecting Internet clients.
