Things to practice for CompTIA 220-602 IT Technician

The CompTIA test 220-602 is meant for entry-level computer technicians. In order to achieve CompTIA A+ certification, a candidate must register for and pass the CompTIA A+ Essentials and any of the elective exams. However, those who have already achieved A+ certification can upgrade by taking only the core exam or any of the elective exams. The CompTIA test 220-602 measures an individual’s ability to manage an operating system on a stand-alone computer as well as on a client computer in a network.

Before taking the CompTIA test 220-602 IT Technician, a candidate should practice the following:

  1. Add, remove, and configure computer components.
  2. Identify the names, purposes, features, and use of different hardware tools.
  3. Identify and apply the common preventive maintenance for computer components.
  4. Identify appropriate applications for laptop-specific communications.
  5. Install, configure, and upgrade laptop devices.
  6. Use command-line functions and utilities, create views, and manage directories.
  7. Use operating system utilities to perform diagnostic actions.
  8. Demonstrate the ability to perform preventive maintenance on operating systems, including software and Windows updates.
  9. Identify the process of installing and configuring printers and scanners.
  10. Identify names, purposes, and features of basic networking protocols and terminologies for establishing connectivity, including usage of different networking tools.
  11. Identify the purposes and features of access control and event logging.
  12. Install and configure software for wireless and data security.

Besides, an IT Technician aspirant should possess professionalism and excellent communication skills and must know how to interact with customers.
