The 70-554 exam measures your skills that include developing and implementing distributed applications by using ASP.NET, and the Microsoft .NET Framework with VB. The exam measures your knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and the new features of ASP.NET 2.0, developing and designing Enterprise applications, designing and developing a user interface, designing and developing a component, designing and developing an application framework, deploying and supporting an application, and testing and stabilizing an application.

A. This is one of two Professional Developer (PRO) Upgrade Exams for those who have obtained the MCSD on Microsoft .NET certification. Therefore, MCPD: Enterprise Developer candidates must first earn the MCSD .NET Certification, which consists of four mandatory core exams:

  • Web Application Development: If you have a working knowledge of Visual Basic .NET language, you will have to take the 70-305 exam. If you have a working knowledge of CSHARP .NET language, you will have to take the 70-315 exam. Therefore, you have to take any one of these two exams. These exams measure your ability to develop and implement Web-based applications with Web forms, ASP.NET, and the Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Windows Application Development: If you have a working knowledge of Visual Basic .NET language, you will have to take the 70-306 exam. If you have a working knowledge of CSHARP .NET language, you will have to take the 70-316 exam. Therefore, you have to take any one of these two exams. These exams measure your ability to develop and implement Windows-based applications with Windows forms and the Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Web Services and Server Components Development: If you have a working knowledge of Visual Basic .NET language, you will have to take the 70-310 exam. If you have a working knowledge of CSHARP .NET language, you will have to take the 70-320 exam. Therefore, you have to take any one of these two exams. These exams measure your ability to develop and implement middle-tier components, server components, and XML Web services by using Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Solution Architecture: You have to take 70-300 exam irrespective of a working knowledge of any language. This core exam measures your ability to analyze requirements and define Microsoft .NET solution architectures.

  • 70-234 Exam: This exam measures your ability to design and implement solutions by using Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This exam is also an elective exam for the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification, Microsoft Certified Solution Developer certification, and Microsoft Certified Application Developer for Microsoft .NET certification.
  • 70-235 Exam: This is a new exam and measures your ability to plan, implement, configure, and manage a Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 environment. Before taking this exam, you should have a minimum of one year of experience creating business process and integration applications by using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 or BizTalk Server 2006.
  • 70-301 Exam: This exam measures your ability to manage, organize, and deliver IT projects by using Microsoft Solutions Framework version 3.0. This exam is also an elective exam for the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification.
  • 70-330 Exam: This exam measures your ability to implement code using methods to minimize security risks and take advantage of the security functionality built into the .NET Framework. For taking this exam, you should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Basic .NET language. This exam is also an elective exam for the Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) for Microsoft .NET certification.
  • 70-340 Exam: This exam measures your ability to implement code using methods to minimize security risks and take advantage of the security functionality built into the .NET Framework. For taking this exam, you should have a working knowledge of Microsoft CSHARP .NET language. This exam is also an elective exam for the Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) for Microsoft .NET certification.
  • 70-431 Exam: This is a new exam and measures your ability to implement and maintain a SQL Server 2005 database. This exam also completes the requirements for the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: SQL Server 2005 certification. This exam is also a requirement for the following certifications:
  • 74-135 Exam: This exam is a new Technology Specialist exam. It measures your ability to develop E-Business Solutions Using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004. For taking this exam, you should have a minimum of one-year experience in designing and developing distributed applications by using Microsoft technologies. You should also have an experience in developing, deploying, and managing a BizTalk server 2004 solution.
