How do I review only the wrong answers?

Once you have completed your test and want to review only the wrong answers, you have two options:

  • Click on the Test >> Review test menu (Ctrl + W), select the test you want to review and click on the Wrong Answer button. This will show you only the questions you attempted incorrectly. You can navigate and review all the incorrect questions in a particular test.
  • Click on the *Test >> Create a test * menu (Ctrl + T). From the Create a Test Dialog box select Test History Tab. Choose Only Incorrect Answered Questions radio button and add the questions from the test you want to review. You can also add questions from multiple tests. Click on Generate the test. It will generate a new test with questions you attempted incorrectly. You can re-test yourself on those questions and review them.

How do I re-test myself with a question I could not answer correctly? It is easy to re-test yourself on a question you could not answer correctly. You can even include questions from the multiple tests. Take the following steps to re-test yourself:

Click on the Test >> Create a test menu * (Ctrl + T)*. From the Create a Test Dialog box select Test History Tab. Choose Only Incorrect Answered Questions radio button and add question form the test you want to review. You can add question form multiple test. Click on Generate the test. It will generate a new test with questions you did incorrect. You can re-test yourself on the questions and review them.

How do I see the question related to a particular study note? There are two ways you can take test on questions related to a particular study note:

  • Click on the Study Notes >> Notes menu (Ctrl + F7). Navigate to the study notes for which you want to attempt the questions. From bottom toolbar click on the show question button (or from the Study Notes >> question menu) It will create a test with all the questions related to the study notes. This helps you to study and understand the topic better while reviewing the study notes.
  • You can also click on the *Test >> Create a Test * menu (Ctrl + T). Select the study notes tab. Select all the study notes, Add questions to pool. You can add questions from multiple study notes and generate a test. This helps you to take a test based on a particular study note.

How do I create a test with random questions? You can create a test with less number of questions (than the available) by using any of the test option, i.e. Predefined test, Test A, B, C. However, the best way to create a test with random questions based on different factors such as questions from a particular study note, chapter or test history.

  • Use Test >> Create A Test menu (Ctrl + T). Select Chapter, or Notes topic.
  • Click on Add Questions to the Pool button, questions from the topic will be added in the right hand list.
  • Set the number of questions you want to generate the test with. The questions will be randomly chosen from the pool.
  • Click on Generate Test button. A new test will be created and opened.

How do I make my test more difficult? uCertify PrepEngine is the most advanced testing engine available today (and we are constantly improving it). One of the best features of the PrepEngine is that you can increase the difficulty level of any questions or test. This feature will particularly help in preparing better. Use the following options to increase the difficulty level of the test:

  • Select None of the above option from the test configuration dialog box. This option will show the last answer option always as ‘None of the above’, and forcing you to evaluate each answer option, as there may be no correct answer to the question present. This make the test more difficult.
  • Competing against the time is one of the most important strategy to increase the difficulty level and thus improving yourself to next level of learning. PrepEngine provides option to reduce the time for test thus making it more difficult. You can reduce the time from the test configuration dialog box.
  • Give test on the question you frequently do incorrect, see How do I re-test myself with a question I could not answer correctly? for more details on this option.
  • For quiz, you can also reduce the time for individual question. So if you do not mark the answer quickly PrepEngine will automatically mark the question incorrect and moved to next question. This feature will generate a competitive environment and force you to concentrate.

How do I see my performance history? Checking your overall performance or on a particular predefined test is especially useful while preparing for the certification. Click on the *Reports >> Performance Graph *menu to see your performance graph, You can also choose a particular test from the dropdown to see you performance for a particular predefined test or quiz.

How do I increase the font size? Use PrepKits >> Preference… menu and select font size you want. You can reduce and increase the font size.

How do I see what are the objectives or skill set required for the test? Each PrepKit contains a section with the list of objective or skill set required to pass the test. To see the skill set required choose Notes >> Objective Menu *(Ctrl + F8) *.

How do I take test with all the questions related to particular objective or skill set? To take a test with all the questions related to a particular objective or skill set,

  • Click on Tests >> Create a test menu * (Ctrl + T)*.
  • In create a test window, select a particular topic and click on the Add questions to the pool button. Questions from the topic will be added in the right hand list.
  • Set the number of questions you want to generate the test with. The questions will be randomly chosen from the pool.
  • Click on Generate the test. A new test will be created and opened.

How do I add my comments on a question or a study note? This is one of the most powerful features of the PrepEngine. By adding notes you can turn the PrepKit to your personal study notes. You can add your comments and notes with Study Notes or questions. To add the notes take the following steps:

  • Click on the Test >> Review test menu (Ctrl + W).
  • Choose the test you want to review and click on the Review button. This will show you the questions in review mode.*
  • From the menu in the bottom, click on the Comments button. This will open a comments window, in which you can add your comments about that particular question.

Adding comment in test mode:
By default comment options is not shown in the test mode (while attempting the test). However you can set the preference to show this option in the test mode. Take the following steps to enable comment in test mode:

  • Click on the PrepKit >> Preferences… menu to open the Preference dialog box.
  • Select Enable my comment option in test mode Checkbox
  • Press OK Button.

To add your comments on a particular study note,

  • click on the Notes >> Notes menu (Ctrl + F7). This will show you all the study notes.
  • From the toolbar in the bottom, click on the Comments button. This will open a comments window, in which you can add your comments about that particular study note.

How do I review question analysis or explanation? You can review a question analysis or explanation after you have finished a test. To review a test click on the Test >> Review Test menu (Ctrl +W). Select the test you want to review and the test will open in review mode. You can review all the question analysis or explanation by clicking on the on the next button in the bottom menu.

How do I increase the time for the test?

Click on the Tests >> Diagnostic Test, Create a test> or Test A, B, or C* menu. In the next window, you can increase the duration of the test by changing the value in the Test duration in minutes field.

How do I see all the study notes?

You can see all the study notes by clicking on the Notes >> Objectives with Notes menu (Ctrl + F9). You can also click on the Objective with Notes menu * (Ctrl + F9) * to see all the study notes.

How do I read the study notes one at a time? You can read the study notes one at a time by clicking on the Notes >> Notes menu (Ctrl + F7). You can also click on the Notes button to see the study notes. You can navigate through the study notes by clicking on the Next button on the toolbar in the bottom.

How do I choose the topics and number of questions in the Customized test? In order to choose the topics in the Customized test take the following steps:

  • Click on the Tests >> Create a test menu (Ctrl + T). This will open a window where you can set the options for the customized test.
  • In the options window, click on the topic or topics on which you want to take the test
  • Click on the Add Questions to the Pool button. This will add all the questions related to the particular topic or topics of your choice.

*Note:*You can also choose the number of questions, the test time and passing score for the test. Furthermore, you can choose whether you want to take the test in Test mode or Learn mode.

How do I set the time each question appears in the Pop Quiz? In order to set the time each question appears in the Pop Quiz, click on the Test >> Quiz menu (Ctrl + Z). This will open a window where you can set the time each questions appears in the Pop Quiz by changing the value in the Maximum Time allow for each question in seconds text box.

How do I set the time for the Pop Quiz?

In order to set the time for the Pop Quiz, click on the Test >> Quiz menu (Ctrl +Z). This will open the Start Quiz dialog box. You can set the time for the quiz by changing the value in the Maximum test duration in minutes text box. You can increase or decrease the test time for your convenience.

How do I pause a test? You can pause a test anytime within the stipulated time period. To pause the test, click on the Pause button on the bottom toolbar. You will see a message that the test is paused. To start the test again, click on the start button in the message box. You can also see the time period for which the test is paused.

How do I attempt Hotspot question? In Hot Spot type questions; you will be required to mark the appropriate area on the image in the Hot Spot window. When you click on an area in the image, a target icon appears on the clicked spot. Question grading: You get one mark for the right answer and zero for the wrong answer.

How do I attempt Tree View questions? To answer Create a Tree type questions, select the appropriate item from the list of items on the right side of the screen and place them under the node of the tree.

To add Items under the nodes, select the destination node on the left side of the screen, select the item from the list of items on the right side of the screen, and then click the left arrow button to move the items.

To remove an item from the tree, you can select the item and click the right arrow button, or you can drag the item from the tree back to the list of items on the right side of the screen.

How do I attempt Drag and drop question? To answer Drag & Drop type of questions, you must drag the correct item from the list of items given, and place them in the given placeholder area. To remove the already placed object, drag n drop it anywhere outside the placeholder area. This action brings the item back to the list of items.

How do I attempt Relationship Questions? Step 1: Press Establish a Relationship button. This will display the Establish a Relationship window (see the image in step 2).

Step 2:
In the Establish a Relationship window, drag the object to the middle of the screen. Select two objects using Shift+Click. This will make the border style of the objects as 3D lowered. Double-click on the relationship option. You can also right click on the relationship connector to Delete or Reverse the relationship.

Step 3:
Press OK to record your answer.

How do I attempt Choose and Reorder questions? To answer Choose and Reorder the List type of questions, you have to select the correct items from the list of choices on the right hand side of the screen and bring them to the left hand side of the screen. To bring items, one by one, to the left hand side of the screen, click on the item in the right hand side of the screen and then click the left arrow button. ,p> Once the items have been selected and brought to the left hand side of the screen, you can rearrange them as you want. To rearrange the list of answers, you have to select the items to be moved up or down, and then use the up or down arrow button to move it.

To remove an item from the left side screen, select the item and click the right arrow button.

How do I attempt the Simulations? In simulation questions you will get an interface, which is like the actual software or application. You have to actually perform the tasks instead of choosing an answer from multiple choices. Simulations add value to certifications as the candidates are tested in the real world-like situation. Hence, they are one of the best methods to judge a candidate’s skills and knowledge of the technology.

How do I get the latest upgrade for the PrepKit? Upgrading a PrepKit is very simple.

  • Go to the PrepKit home page. For example for the Microsoft’s 70-290 exam PrepKit go to http://www.ucertify.com/exams/Microsoft/70-290.html. or Download PrepKits page a href=http://www.ucertify.com/download.html target=_blank>http://www.ucertify.com/download.html
  • Click on the Download (Try IT) link. It will start downloading the PrepKit.

Note: There is no difference between the trail version and the full version of the PrepKit. The same PrepKit provide full access if it is registered and you have installed the License Key.

How do I download the PrepKit? You can download the PrepKit by clicking on the ‘TRY IT NOW’ or Download button on a product page. The download will start within 15 seconds. In the dialog box, which is displayed next, select ‘save it on the disc’ option and press OK. Download time depends on the speed of the Internet connection you use.

How do I buy the PrepKit if I do not have credit card? Credit cards expedite the process, but if you do not have a credit card, you can use Paypal account to make a payment. Using Paypal is easy and secure. How do I register the PrepKit?

Once you buy a PrepKit, you will receive an activation key sent to you as an e-mail attachment. Download the Key file on your computer (make sure you note the destination of the file, we suggest you copy it to your desktop). Double click on the Key file to register the PrepKit. Your PrepKit will be registered, licensed and unlocked. Restart the PrepKit and you should have full access to all the content in the PrepKit.

Note: If you received the Activation key in .zip format use winzip utility to unzip the file instead of built in tools given with Windows XP or Windows 2003. Winzip utility can be downloaded freely from the http://www.winzip.com

You should have administrative privileges on your system, as Activation key is stored in the windows registry.

How do I check whether the PrepKit is registered correctly?

If your PrepKit is registered correctly, Test A, Test B, Test C, etc., under the Test menu will be enabled. Also, in the Help menu of the PrepEngine and in the About Section, the License information will be given.

How do I check the license information?

You can check the license information by clicking on the Help >> About menu from the PrepKit.

How do I vote for the content? You can now vote for the questions, study notes, Articles and for the PrepKit itself. To vote, click on the Rate now stars on the upper left corner of every question or study note, articles and PrepKit Cover Page within the PrepKit. Your rating helps us understand your needs and to improve the quality of our content.

How do I participate in a Survey? You can submit your survey about a particular PrepKit. To participate in a survey: 1. Click on the Help >> Survey menu. This will open a Web page in which you will get a survey form. 2. You can fill the form and submit your survey form.
