While there are no official prerequisites to take the Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Administrator exam, both Microsoft and uCertify strongly recommend that the candidate have a minimum of two years of experience of administering, deploying, managing, monitoring, upgrading, migrating, and designing SharePoint solutions.
How many questions are asked in the exam? The exam contains 40-60 questions.

What is the exam's retake policy?

In the event that you fail your first attempt at passing the 70-668 exam , Microsoft's retake policy is:

  • You may not take a given exam any more than five times per year (12 months). This 12-month period would start the day of the fifth unsuccessful exam retake. You would then be eligible to retake the exam 12 months from that date. In order to take a given exam more than five times per year, you must submit a request and obtain prior permission from Microsoft.
  • You must wait at least a 24-hour period before retaking the exam.
  • If you need a third or subsequent attempt to pass the certification, you shall be required to wait for a period of at least a 14-day before retaking the exam.
  • If you have already passed the exam, it cannot be taken again without prior consent from Microsoft.
What is the validity of the certification? The MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification is scheduled to retire on July 31, 2015.
