There is no prerequisite for the 1Z0-851 exam. However, you must be well experienced with the language before you take the exam. This foundation certification is for programmers interested in demonstrating proficiency in the fundamentals of the Java programming language. It is not necessary to be a Orcale Certified Java Associate prior to taking this exam.

- As Sun Certified Java Programmer (any edition) can upgrade to OCP Java SE 5 Programmer by passing 1Z0-0854 :OCP Java SE 5 Programmer Upgrade exam
