It provides Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) and Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) certification. There are different types of certification in both MCTS and MCPD.
The MCTS certification includes five different types of certification and these five certification requires five different exams:
- MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Windows Applications requires Exam 70-511: TS: Windows Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
- For MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Web Applications you need to pass Exam 70-515-CSHARP: TS: Web Applications Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
- The MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Service Communication Applications requires Exam 70-513: TS: Windows Communication Foundation Development with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
- For MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Data Access you need to pass Exam 70-516-CSHARP: TS: Accessing Data with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.
- MCTS: Silverlight 4, Development requires Exam 70-506: TS: Silverlight 4, Development.
And to upgrade this certification from MCTS to MCPD Visual Studio 2010 Certification, it includes three different types of certification, which are as follows:
- MCPD: Windows Developer 4 requires Exam 70-518-CSHARP: PRO: Designing and Developing Windows Applications Using Microsoft .NET Framework 4, but you should be MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Windows Applications, MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Service Communication Applications, and MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Data Access certified.
- MCPD: Web Developer 4 requires Exam 70-519-CSHARP: PRO: Designing and Developing Web Applications Using Microsoft .NET Framework 4, but you should be MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Web Applications, MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Service Communication Applications, and MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Data Access certified.
- MCPD: Windows Azure Developer requires Exam 70-583: PRO: Designing and Developing Windows Azure Applications, but you should be MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Service Communication Applications and MCTS: .NET Framework 4, Data Access certified.
There are two upgrade exam from MCPD on Visual Studio 2008 to MCPD on Visual Studio 2010.
- Candidate who is MCPD: Windows Developer 3.5 or MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 certified needs to pass Exam 70-521-CSHARP: Upgrade: Transition Your MCPD .NET Framework 3.5 Windows Developer Skills to MCPD .NET 4 Windows Applications Developer.
- Candidate who is MCPD: ASP.NET Developer 3.5 or MCPD Enterprise Application Developer 3.5 needs to pass Exam 70-523: Upgrade: Transition Your MCPD .NET Framework 3.5 Web Developer Skills to MCPD .NET Framework 4 Web Developer.
