CompTIA To Retire Green IT And IT for Sales Certifications

CALIFORNIA, September 25, 2013 – CompTIA has announced that CompTIA Green IT and CompTIA IT for Sales certification exams are slated to be retired by the year-end. Candidates who intend to take these exams must schedule and register their exam before December 31st, 2013. As of January 1, 2014, these exams will no longer be available.

The CompTIA Strata Green IT certification is designed to enhance an IT professional’s experience, knowledge, and existing IT credentials to incorporate emerging technologies shaping the global green IT industry today. This exam covers the following areas:

  • A specialized knowledge of current IT methodologies.

  • The ability to develop, deploy, and calculate true ROI for green IT initiatives.

  • Knowledge of cost-cutting power management and IT virtualization techniques.

  • Proven understanding of environmentally-sound waste disposal.

To achieve this certification, candidates need to pass FC0-GR1 exam and they should hold CompTIA A+, and CompTIA Server+ certification in addition to minimum 18 months of technical experience. Candidates can schedule their exam via Pearson VUE testing centers.

 CompTIA Strata IT for Sales certification is designed to show that the successful candidate has the knowledge to effectively engage a customer, identify types of technology users, coordinate with technical staff, ensure customer satisfaction, and provide appropriate solutions based on customer requirements – including Green IT and preventative maintenance.

To achieve this certification, candidates need to pass FC0-TS1 exam. There is no pre-requisite for this certification exam. Candidates can schedule their exam via Pearson VUE testing centers.
