CompTIA which is a leading provider of IT certifications now introduced an partnership with Linux Professional Institute (LPI) which is leading the world in providing Linux certification. This collaboration will be very beneficial for the candidates all over the world who are seeking the Linux certification and enhance their skill.

By this partnership, CompTIA will adopt LPI’s Level One certification exams (LPIC-1) for its CompTIA Linux+ certification. With the help of this collaboration, candidates will earn both the new “CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI” certification and the existing LPIC-1 certification.

By earning this certification, candidates will get the advantage of both certifications. Linux certification proves to be a milestone in your career as the number of Linux jobs in 2009 grew as much as 5 percent and that there was a 10 percent salary premium for IT professionals with enterprise Linux skills.

Under this collaboration program, CompTIA will adopt LPIC-1 exams (LPI-101 and LPI-102) for the new CompTIA Linux + Powered by LPI certification. CompTIA LX0-101 and LX0-102 exams will be offered at the same price as LPIC-1 exams. The candidates who have passed CompTIA Linux+ powered by LPI exams are eligible to qualify for both the CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI certification and the LPIC-1 certification.
