WDS stands for Windows Deployment Services. It is an updated version of Remote Installation services. It allows an administrator to remotely install Windows Vista on client computers that have a PXE-capable network adapter installed.
The WDS server must be configured with Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) boot files, images to be installed on client computers, and an answer file.
