What is the Windows Experience Index tool?

Rating:

The Windows Experience Index is a Windows Vista tool. It is used to measure the capability of a computer's hardware configuration. It provides the Windows Experience Index score, also called base score, of a computer. This index score is used to determine whether the computer running Windows Vista has sufficient resources to run a particular application. The Windows Experience Index score is determined by the score of the lowest-rated component. It helps administrators to determine whether or not a computer is appropriate to run an application having the recommended Windows Experience Index score. If the computer meets the score, the application will perform well. The tool provides scores between 1 and 5.
