UNDO_MANAGEMENT is an initialization parameter that is set in the init.ora file. The UNDO_MANAGEMENT parameter type is string.

The syntax of the UNDO_MANAGEMENT parameter is given below:

UNDO_MANAGEMENT = (MANUAL/AUTO)

The default value of the UNDO_MANAGEMENT parameter is MANUAL.

The parameter class of UNDO_MANAGEMENT is static.

The UNDO_MANAGEMENT parameter specifies the mode of undo space management used by the system.

If the UNDO_MANAGEMENT parameter mode is set to AUTO, then the instance starts in automatic mode of undo management but if it is set to MANUAL mode, then the undo space is allocated externally as rollback statements.
