What is the stop action?

The stop action stops the currently playing movie. It is used with buttons to control a movie. The stop action also can be used on frames to end an animation.

The syntax of using the stop action is as follows:

stop();

For example:

The following code is assigned to a button:

on (release){
stop();
}

The above code stops the playhead from moving on the timeline when the button is released.
