What is the RESTORE VERIFYONLY statement?

The RESTORE VERIFYONLY statement is used to verify that the files in the backup are readable. It cannot be used to restore a database. If any errors are detected, the verification of the backup is stopped; otherwise, success message is displayed.

The syntax of using the RESTORE VERIFYONLY STATEMENT is as follows:

RESTORE VERIFYONLY FROM backup_device
