What is the <%=%> construction?

Rating:

The <%=%> construction is the simplest way of displaying information from an ASP.NET program. It is used mostly for displaying single pieces of information. The value that is used after the equal sign is written to the current page. For example, the following code displays the value of the variable NoOfRecords inline on the current page:

Number of Records: <%=NoOfRecords%>

If the value of the variable NoOfRecords happens to be "10", the following string will be displayed on the current page:

Number of Records: 10
