The Import utility is used to load data from an export dump file into a database. The export dump file is created by the Export utility during an export operation. The Import utility can read only an export dump file. Also, an export dump file can be read only by the Import utility.
When importing data from an export dump file, either both the table definition and the table data can be imported, or only the table definition can be imported.
