What is the Gradient Map command?
Rating:
The Gradient Map command (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Gradient Map or Image > Adjustments > Gradient Map) creates a new image by mapping the equivalent grayscale range of an image to two or more colors specified in a gradient fill. If a two-color gradient fill is specified, the leftmost color is mapped to shadows of the image, and the rightmost color is mapped to the highlights. The gradations in between the leftmost and the rightmost are mapped to the midtones.
