The Double class is a type of wrapper class that wraps a primitive type double value in an object. As the Double class is a subclass of the abstract class Number, it implements the doubleValue(), floatValue(), longValue(), and intValue() methods, which are declared as abstract in the Number class. The Double class also defines the byteValue() and shortValue() methods. In addition to these, it defines various utility methods for converting a double to a String or a String to a double.
The Double class defines two overloaded constructors for String and double arguments. Their signatures are given below:
