What is the Configuration class in the System.Configuration namespace?

The Configuration class in the System.Configuration namespace is used to represent a configuration file that can be applied to a specific computer, application, or a resource. The class instance represents the merged view of the configuration settings. It represents the default configuration settings when no configuration file exists for a specified entity. This class allows programmatic access for editing configuration files.
