What is the compressed (zipped) folder?
Rating:
Windows XP contains a compression utility in the form of the compressed (zipped) folders. These folders can be created on the FAT, FAT32, or NTFS volume, including floppy disks. Both Windows XP Home Edition as well as Windows XP Professional support the compressed (zipped) folder. Any file copied into this folder becomes compressed automatically. Compressed (zipped) folders can be shared with the users' computers not running Windows XP Professional or not using a drive formatted with NTFS.
