What is the base keyword?
Rating:
The base keyword is used with inheritance. A subclass can call a method or constructor of a super class using the base keyword. The base keyword can be used anywhere in the subclass to access public and protected members of the superclass. The following code snippet displays the use of the base keyword:
{
public void Method1()
{
Console.WriteLine("SuperClass");
}
}
public class subclass : superclass
{
public void Method1()
{
base.Method1(); // baseclass' Method1()
Console.WriteLine("SubClass");
}
}
