System Global Area (SGA) is a group of Oracle shared memory structures, which contains data and control information for an Oracle database instance. By default, the SGA consists of the following four components:
- Shared pool
- Database buffer cache
- Java pool
- Redo log buffer
- Large pool
- Data dictionary cache
- Library cache
- User global area
