What is SWAT?

Rating:

SWAT stands for Samba Web Administration Tool. It is a tool that allows a Web browser to configure and manage Samba. This tool provides context-sensitive help on each smb.conf parameter. SWAT uses integral Samba components to locate parameters supported by Samba. Unlike tools and utilities that are external to Samba, SWAT is updated as soon as Samba parameters change. Whenever SWAT writes the smb.conf file to the disk, it writes only those parameters that are not using the default settings.
