What is Reliability Monitor?

The Reliability Monitor tool in Windows Vista is used to detect the reason of failure of a computer. This tool is very helpful for detecting the intermittent failure. The Reliability Monitor tool is used to get an overview of reasons of failures over a configurable period of time. The Reliability Monitor report the following events:

  • Software installation and removal

  • Application failures

  • Hardware failures

  • Windows failures

  • Miscellaneous failures
The Reliability Monitor can be accessed by clicking Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Reliability And Performance > Monitoring Tools > Reliability Monitor.
