What is MTA?
Rating:
MTA stands for Message Transfer Agent. It is a program responsible for delivering e-mail messages. This program stores an outgoing e-mail locally, and then depending upon the recipient's address, the MTA either routes it locally or forwards it to another remote MTA. This process continues until an MTA receives an e-mail addressed to one of its Mail User Agent.
