What is FHSS?
Rating:
Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) is a type of transmission technology employed for 802.11 wireless communication. It uses a wide range of frequencies in the 2.4GHz band. The FHSS method transmits radio signals by rapidly switching a carrier among many frequency channels. The signal hops between different frequencies appearing in a random pattern. This pseudorandom pattern is generated by a computation that is known to both sender and receiver. This reduces the possibility of radio frequency interference (RFI) from nearby transmissions.
