What is expression language?

Expression language is a kind of language in JSP and has become its part in version 2.0. It is used to invoke code stored in the JavaBean component. The syntax of an expression language code is as follows:

${Expr}

Here, Expr is an expression that can be a literal, an operator, a variable, or a function call.
