The explicit UPN can have any string at both sides of the @ symbol. Each string is explicitly defined by the administrator. For example, Andrew Symonds might have the UPN as ADS@DOM. Explicit UPNs are useful when an organization does not want to publicize the name of domains or the forest structure.
