What is Driver.cab?
Rating:
Driver.cab is a Windows XP cabinet file that is used to store device driver files that ship with the Windows XP installation CD. Windows XP uses this file during and after the installation to install drivers when a new hardware is detected. This process relieves a user from providing the installation CD whenever drivers are installed. All drivers in the Driver.cab file are digitally signed and Windows XP Setup copies this file to the %system_root%DriverCachex86 folder on the local hard disk during installation.
