What is data dictionary?
Rating:
A data dictionary is a set of tables that contain information about data objects, table constraints, user privileges, and data storage. It is automatically created and maintained by the Oracle server. The data dictionary is available to users for reference purposes only. It cannot be modified or deleted by users, as it may render the database in an unstable state. However, Oracle can access the data dictionary for modifications whenever some DDL (Data Definition Language) statements are issued against it.
