A WPF Standalone application is a type of WPF application that is installed on a client computer. It behaves like a Windows Form application and presents a non-navigational interface to a user. It has full trust, and all the capabilities of WPF can be used. It can access the file system beyond a limited Isolated Storage area and be installed from a local disk or from a network server. It runs in its own standard OS window.
