What is a routed event in WPF?

A routed event is a type of event that is processed by the WPF event system. It can invoke event handlers on multiple listeners in a visual element tree, instead of invoking just on the object that raised the event. In the WPF event system, there can be three types of routed event strategies. They include the Direct, Bubble, and Tunnel routed event strategies.
