What is deployment via removable media?

Rating:

Deployment via removable media is possible in the following cases:

  • When the application is large-sized
  • Several users are at different locations without being centrally connected
  • All users do not have access to the Internet
The most common examples of removable media are floppy disks, CD-ROMs, and DVDs. Several deployment projects create small packages that are distributed across multiple files. These files can be easily distributed to different users via removable media. Web setup projects are created, specially for removable media, simply by changing the project's property pages from the Package files option to the In cabinet file(s). There is also an option of Cab Size in the project's property pages where the size of the Cab files can be specified depending on the size of the specific media.
