Inventory depends on the following three factors:

  • Time: Time refers to the period between the order and the delivery of a product to a supplier or customer.

  • Cost: The cost of a product in inventory refers either to the amount paid to a supplier for a product or the amount required by the company to manufacture a product.

  • Demand: The demand of a product is based on its popularity. The more popular the product is, the more quantity should be in the inventory.
