What are software restriction policies?
Rating:
Software restriction policies are a new feature in Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. This feature provides administrators the ability to identify applications running on computers in a domain, and controls the ability of these applications to execute. Software restriction policies use a hash algorithm of the application, the application's associated file path, the application publisher's certificate, or the Internet zone that hosts the application to control the ability of these programs to execute.
