Public folder permissions allow an administrator to control the level of access for users, and specify the tasks that users can perform. There are eight public folder individual permissions that can be assigned to users. The following table displays these permissions and their descriptions:
| Folder Owner | Users with this permission can change permissions on a folder, add rules, and install forms on a folder. |
| Create Items | Users with this permission can create new items in a folder. |
| Create Subfolders | Users with this permission can create subfolders within a folder. |
| Read Items | Users with this permission can open and view items in a folder. |
| Folder Contact | Users with this permission can receive e-mail notifications related to a folder. |
| Folder Visible | Users with this permission can view a folder. |
| Edit Items | Users with this permission can modify items in a folder. |
| Delete Items | Users with this permission can delete items in a folder. |
