PDAs are hand-held devices that provide features such as telephone and fax capabilities, Internet and e-mail access, a task list, a memo pad, a calendar, and other networking features. PDAs usually consist of a touch screen with handwriting recognition capabilities, a processor and memory, and an operating system. They can synchronize with desktop computers so that the information on both the PDA and the desktop is always coordinated. Users can add applications such as database software, financial software, game software, picture applications, street and map software, and many more to their PDAs.
