What are normal layers?

Normal layers are just like transparent sheets that lies on top of each other on the Stage. They are used to add depth to a document. The contents on one layer can be drawn and edited without affecting the contents on another layer. Layers help to organize the contents in a Flash document. They can be added, removed and moved to change the composition of the document. A user can also hide and lock layers. Hidden layers do not appear in a final movie.
