What are keyboard properties?

Rating:

Keyboard properties can be configured in the Keyboard Properties dialog box, which is opened by running Control Panel > Keyboard. This dialog box contains two tabs, namely Speed and Hardware. The Speed tab allows a user to configure the following options:

  1. Repeat Rate: It controls the rate of repetition of a keypress performed by Windows.

  2. Repeat Delay: It controls how long a user will have to press a key before Windows starts repeating the keypress. Users having difficulties in using keyboards can minimize the problem by setting a longer repeat delay.

  3. Cursor Blink Rate: It controls the cursor's or insertion point's blinking rate.
The Hardware tab page can be used to manage device drivers as can be done through Device Manager.
