What are embedded fonts?

January 2nd, 2008 by uCertify Leave a reply »

Embedded fonts are fonts that can be used for both dynamic and input text fields. These fonts are stored in a SWF file. So, Flash Player uses the stored font information to display the fonts even if they are not available on the end user’s computer. As the player uses embedded fonts, the fonts look exactly the same as expected. Since the embedded fonts are embedded in the SWF file, the size of the Flash file is greater as compared to the file in which device fonts are used.
