What are data dictionary views?
Rating:
Data dictionary views are those database objects that are static, which means that changes to any data dictionary view are only possible if corresponding modifications are made in the data dictionary.
Data dictionary views are used to access information stored in the data dictionary tables, as these tables are not directly accessible.
The DICTIONARY view is queried to obtain the list of all the data dictionary views.
Some of the data dictionary views that are used to tune the performance of a database are mentioned below:
- DBA_TABLES
- DBA_INDEXES
- DBA_STATS
- DBA_DATA_FILES
- DBA_SEGMENTS
- DBA_HISTOGRAMS
- DBA_OBJECTS
