What are shared locks?
Rating:
Shared locks are used for locking objects so that only users belonging to the workspace of an object are able to modify it. This lock is also placed on the parent version of the object to avoid conflicts arising for the object. Shared locks are comparatively less restrictive than exclusive locks. The advantage of shared locks over exclusive locks is that by using the former type of locks, users of the workspace that holds the shared lock can access the locked object.
