What are ADDM alerts?
Rating:
ADDM alerts are an integral part of the ADDM architecture. ADDM alerts are used to notify database users in case the management of a database has become tedious or in case the performance of a database has deteriorated. ADDM alerts notify database users even if they are away from their working desk. ADDM alerts can be sent through the following methods:
- Via e-mail
- Via SMTP traps
- By running custom scripts or PL/SQL procedures
ADDM alerts help trace the performance of the database
Apart from notifications, alerts can also be set to initiate some action. For example, an alert can be set to run a script that shrinks the tablespace objects. This can be used as a tablespace usage warning alert.
