Tip to know the mode of access of a user accessing CLI.

The user is in the user mode (user EXEC mode) if the command prompt lists the hostname followed by a > symbol. The prompt changes to the host name followed by a # symbol, if a user accesses the switch in the enable mode (privileged EXEC mode).
