The CIW 1D0-442 exam is designed for database developers, database administrators, Internet application developers, middleware programmers, Java developers and client/server developers, etc.

CIW Enterprise Specialist is responsible for designing, developing and deploying complete software solutions for large business organizations.

Before taking this exam, one should practice the following:

  1. Identify the role of CORBA in developing enterprise applications.
  2. Identify J2EE server technologies.
  3. Define CORBA architecture.
  4. Identify the role of the Object Management Group (OMG).
  5. Define IDL interface.
  6. Identify mapping of IDL data types to Java primitives.
  7. Identify EJB components.
  8. Identify entity and session beans.
  9. Identify EJB container services.
  10. Identify transaction and security issues associated with enterprise beans.
  11. Use the IDL compiler to generate client stubs and server skeletons.
  12. Identify the technologies associated with the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE).
  13. Create EJB clients.
