Comments are the statements that are ignored by the JavaScript interpreter. Comments can be used for inserting notes about a program or a part of a program. These notes help the programmers to read and debug the code. Comments are helpful for modifying the code in the future.

There are two types of comments as follows:

  1. Single line comments
  2. Multi-line comments

Single line comments: These comments are written on a single line by using // as follows:

//This is a single line comment

Multi-line comments: These comments are written on multiple lines by using /*...*/ as follows:

/*This is a multi-line comment.
This can be used to write comments on multiple lines*/
