How to replace the contents of a Smart Object?

Take the following steps to replace the contents of a Smart Object without losing the modifications made to the Smart Object:

  1. Select the Smart Object from the Layers palette.



  2. Choose Layer > Smart Objects > Replace Contents.



  3. In the Place dialog box, choose the location of the file, select the file name and then click the Place button.



  4. This will replace the contents of the Smart Object with the selected file.
